Safe Quality Food (SQF) returned for its 12th annual conference this year in Dallas, TX; bringing together over 800+ food safety and quality professionals to discuss upcoming regulatory changes and the new SQF Code, Edition 8 9. Every year, the SQF conference provides a great opportunity for networking with other industry professionals and valuable educational resources about changing food requirements.
Trace Analytics was honored to participate in this year’s conference! We loved getting to know everyone and were proud to sponsor the most important part of the food safety conference–the lunches! We return to the SQF conference year after year because at Trace Analytics, we want to remain at the forefront of upcoming food safety issues and regulatory changes. Our team of experts is dedicated to upholding the highest quality standards in the industry.
If you weren’t able to attend the SQF Conference this year we have compiled a list of our favorite highlights from this year’s conference.
SQF 2017 Highlights
1. The 2017 SQF International Conference kicked off with Opening Keynote Speaker and Former NBA Player Walter Bond, followed by the SQFI Awards. Bond inspired conference attendees with a motivational pep talk on becoming a “Peak Performer” and how to avoid “excuses that trip us up in our trek to be better”.
2. We were excited to discuss the new SQF Code, Edition 8 in regards to compressed air. Effective January 02, 2018, particles, water, oil, and microorganisms are still recommended to monitor, but the new edition now includes gas purity testing to the list of previous requirements. Not to worry, we do that too and have all the educational resources you’ll need.

3. We were also excited to offer continuing education training and certificates of training at our booth.
4. William Espey of Chipotle Mexican Grill closed out SQF 2017 with a informative presentation about overcoming food safety challenges, drawing on his experiences from the E.coli incidents associated with the chain in late 2015.
